PLMS RF Gateway
PLMS RF Gateway
PLMS RF Gateway (GW)

The Gateway connects up to 1,000 nodes to the CMS via a secure API using the TALQ2 protocol. It features a built-in web server, battery backup, mini-SIM connectivity, and operates on either 230 VAC or 24 VDC power supply. Communication with nodes and sensors is via RF (868 MHz, 912 MHz, or 2.4 GHz), while Wi-Fi is used for local servicing. The intelligent DIMmy Web engine embedded in the GW enables real-time decision-making, which is essential for Adaptive Road Lighting applications. In the event of a GW failure, nodes automatically reconnect to a nearby gateway, ensuring system resilience.

NEMA nodes are based on a legacy concept primarily used in regions where luminaires are directly connected to the electrical grid without separate lighting cables. These nodes operate on 230 VAC and require an integrated power supply. They are typically equipped with energy measurement functionality. The controllable power is limited, and NEMA nodes are not suitable for solar-powered applications. Communication is achieved via an advanced RF module operating at 868 MHz or 912 MHz, supporting mesh and/or star network topologies.

Zhaga Node

Zhaga nodes represent the latest generation of lighting control technology. They operate on 24 VDC and communicate with the luminaire driver via bi-directional DALI-2 (D4i) interfaces. These intelligent nodes retain predefined switching and dimming profiles locally in case of gateway communication loss. If no configuration is available, an integrated backup photocell ensures basic on/off operation. Zhaga nodes are the ideal solution for road and landscape lighting applications, offering maximum flexibility, reliability, and future readiness. They are mandatory for solar powered lighting systems.

Zhaga Mini nodes offer functionality similar to standard Zhaga nodes but without GPS capability. They are suitable for applications where location services are not required and esthetics is important.

Power-Line Communication Nodes (PLC)

PLC nodes provide functionality comparable to RF-based nodes but communicate via existing power cables. The gateway is typically located in the Lighting Distribution Board (LDB). This solution is particularly suited for tunnel and secured installations. Communication with the luminaire driver is via DALI 1 or DALI 2 or 1-10V eliminating the need for individual control cables and significantly reducing installation complexity and reliability.

Traffic Light Weather Sensor (LTM)

Revetec’s AI-driven LTM sensor enables full Adaptive Road Lighting (ARL) by simultaneously measuring road luminance (closed-loop control), traffic volume, and meteorological conditions. More than 30 systems have been installed in the UAE. Energy savings of up to 60% have been demonstrated. The system supports real-time lighting control in accordance with CEN 13201-3 and CIE 115 and the upcoming ARL standards, dynamically adjusting light levels based on actual road usage and conditions. The sensor detects wet or dry road surfaces, snow coverage, and fog. The additional investment is typically recovered within less than three years through substantial energy savings.

L20 Luminance Meter Sensor

The L20 sensor measures the approach zone luminance at the stopping distance before the tunnel portal. It is available as a traditional L20 sensor or as a veiling luminance sensor (Lseq). The device is equipped with an integrated CCTV camera for precise aiming towards the tunnel portal and for installation documentation. A built-in Wi-Fi interface allows easy maintenance and configuration. To date, more than 170 L20 sensors have been installed across the Middle East.

Central Management System (CMS)

Maestro is Revetec’s Central Management System platform. Currently, four CMS installations are operational in the GCC and more than 50 across Europe. Maestro 3 is TALQ2-compliant and can interoperate with any TALQ2-compatible GW. The platform can be deployed either on-premises or in the cloud. Communication with gateways and third-party systems (e.g. SCADA) is handled via secure web services. Maintenance personnel can access the system easily using mobile devices or tablets, enabling efficient field operations.
